The financing process starts and overlaps with the design phase as the solar company determines the project costs and projected cash flow—dependent upon financing structure.  The financing process requires that the proper information be presented in a manner acceptable to investors.  Green Solar Finance prides itself on presenting a comprehensive package of information to enable investors to efficiently evaluate financing opportunities.

The finance process entails the following:

  • Determining financing objectives of client
  • Evaluating project costs and current financing structures available to meet client objectives
  • Working with partner on project cash flow analysis
  • Assisting in applying for and securing all potential Federal and State tax and rebate incentives available to all parties involved in financing
  • Requesting, receiving and reviewing client and project information required by investors
  • Preparing and organizing comprehensive financing package for investors
  • Identifying and submitting financing package to appropriate investor(s)
  • Responding to and organizing investor follow-up due diligence 
  • Evaluating and presenting most cost effective financing available
  • Overseeing final steps to closing on financing

Green Solar Finance has flexible working relationships with our partners and their clients.  We can provide direct interface with clients, counsel partners to interface with clients, or any combination of interaction measures that meets our partner's objectives.  GSF believes in a team approach and maintains regular communications with all our partners.  All non-public information from partners and their clients shared with Green Solar Finance is held in the strictest confidence.  Our goal at Green Solar Finance is to enable partners to build and monetize solar projects, provide the most cost effective service to secure solar project financing, supplement the professionalism and expertise of our partners, and enhance our partner's ability to attract and secure new business.

With the present demand for solar project financing, investor turn around times are approximately three to four weeks.  Interested investors will require follow-up due diligence including direct conversations with clients.  After final approve, investors will be able to close within two weeks.

Green Solar Finance requires the following client and project information to prepare and organize the comprehensive financing package: 

  • solar project proposal  Documentation related to site feasibility, system design, engineering specs, permitting information, project costs and any other relevant information to the project.
  • preferred financing structure  Overview of client financing objectives and constraints.
  • projected cash flow analysis  Partner's financial model of cash flows for the project. 
  • historical Ffinancial statements  Audited financial statements for client or Federal taxes returns (three years)
  • project team contact list  Contact information for partner and client team members involved in process and point person preference to address follow-up due diligence.

Upon receipt of the information, Green Solar Finance will package and present the information to the appropriate potential investors.
